Geraldine McKeown Meets SunRise Artists

On March 20, local artist Geraldine McKeown met with members of the SunRise Art Studio. On this day, McKeown spent a couple hours describing her watercolor techniques with the group. Members of this group meet every Tuesday to learn about art and artistic techniques, and then use what they learn to create their own works of art.

SunRise staff member Megan Torello leads this group. At the weekly meetings, she teaches about famous artists and their methods of artistic expression. SunRise is a local, residential program managed by Upper Bay Counseling and Support Services, Inc. This program provides housing for clients in need.

Geraldine McKeown will serve as the Honorary Chairperson for this year’s “Expressions of Healing” Art Exhibit. Each year, Upper Bay Counseling, in collaboration with Cecil County Arts Council, presents this exhibit at the Elkton Arts Center during the month of May.
